Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

Keep it Efficient

Energy Performance Certificates

An Energy Performance Certificate contains information about the energy efficiency of a property. It also contains information about the property’s energy use, typical energy costs and recommendations about how to reduce energy use and save money.

An EPC gives the property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient).

Energy Performance Certificates have been brought in for properties that are built, sold or rented.

The requirement for an EPC has been the law since 2008 (2009 in Scotland), meaning that if your home has been let or sold since then it should have one. They remain valid for 10 years.

You must order an EPC for potential buyers and tenants before you market your property to sell or rent.

Once your EPC has been carried out, you will receive your rating. If this doesn’t meet the required level for your property, you will require upgrades – This is where NSN Electrical come in.

Upon completion of your EPC results, we can work alongside your consultant to get your rating up to a permissible level. Whether this is the upgrade of lighting, installation of dual tariff heaters or any other electrical work that can be carried out on your property to bring its rating up.

NSN Electrical are experienced in what is required to bring ratings up when it comes to electrical installations. We have years of experience working alongside EPC consultants to meet requirements and needs of the client.

Every upgrade is discussed with the consultant to make sure that it will meet the requirements and get you your EPC rating.
